In this webinar, by SoC-e and GES, attendees will learn why PRP/HSR ethernet solutions are required for electrical substation automation and mission-critical applications that cannot tolerate any system downtime.

  Webinar Agenda

Introduction to HSR and PRP.

HSR Vs PRP

Advantages of Hardware Based PRP

PTP - IEEE 1588v2 and Relevant Profiles for Substations

HSR and PRP with Sample Values processing

Implementing HSR/PRP With SoC-e’s Reconfigurable IPs

Value Added COTS Solutions by Relyum : RELY-PCIe, RELY-REC & RELY-TEST

Also, SoC-e will present their HSR/PRP solutions that are essential in guaranteeing a secure and reliable electrical energy system in today’s challenging complex electrical networks.

SoC-e and Relyum provide HSR, PRP and PTP solutions to companies of the Electric Sector that have integrated SoC-e IPs and modules in IEDs, Merging Units, RTUs and in many other equipment enabling time-aware high-availability secure and reliable Ethernet network implementations.

IEC 61850 is the backbone for the Smart Power Automation and Control Systems (PACs), developed to provide a zero-delay and no frame lost Ethernet based networking solution for critical control messages communicated within these systems (like GOOSE or SMV messages). IEC 61850 adopts IEC 62439-3 clauses 4 and 5 to provide bump-less Ethernet redundancy in PACs. IEC 62439-3 Clause 5 is named High-availability Seamless Redundancy (HSR) and clause 4, Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP). Both protocols offer zero switch-over delay time, no-frames lost in case of failure, and strong means for Network Supervision at Layer 2.

David joined SoC-e 10 years ago, in 2012. While he originally started working as an RTL developer, he quickly moved into multiple capacities. As a product manager, he is responsible for the business development of the SoC-e IP Cores business unit. He leads customer discussions, swiftly understands customer requirements, and guides them with his expertise to provide the best-fit SoC-e base solutions. He is highly appreciated for his deep knowledge and for enabling customers to succeed in their projects. He is also an active member of the product development team at SoC-e. Based on market feedback and customer interactions he helps define new product features as part of the SoC-e product roadmap.
